Lining work in Dubai
Dubai is three lining markets in one emirate: regulated industrial containment in the free zones, farm and landscape reservoirs along the desert belt, and utility water storage serving the city's cooling and irrigation networks.
Industrial work in Jebel Ali, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Industrial City and Al Quoz tends to arrive with a consultant's specification attached — usually 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm sheet, a defined test regime and a CQA file required at handover. Agricultural work along Al Qudra, Saih Al Salam, Lehbab and Margham is the opposite: 0.75 mm or 1.00 mm sheet, quick delivery, and a crew that can find the site without a plot number.

Typical Dubai projects
Secondary containment bunds
Tank farms and chemical stores across the industrial zones. Chemical compatibility and a documented seam test record are the core of the scope, usually in 1.5–2.0 mm sheet.
Farm and irrigation reservoirs
The Al Qudra and Margham belt, generally 0.75–1.00 mm smooth black liner over a graded sand subgrade with a 500 mm anchor trench at the crest.
Landscape and hotel lakes
Decorative water bodies where the liner is hidden under sand or gravel. Penetration detailing around pumps, lights and fountains is the demanding part.
Construction water storage
Temporary ponds for dewatering, batching and dust suppression — often 0.5 mm with a short design life.

Gate access
Free zone and industrial estate deliveries need gate details, a site contact and sometimes a vehicle permit raised a day ahead.
Offloading
Rolls lift by the core with a stinger bar. Confirm a telehandler or excavator is on site before the truck is dispatched.
Summer programme
From roughly May to September, deployment and welding move to the early morning. Build that into the programme rather than discovering it in July.
Subgrade
Much of the desert belt carries a gypsum crust that breaks into sharp plates. A cushion geotextile under the liner is cheap insurance here.

Yes — JAFZA, DIP, Dubai Industrial City and Dubai South are all served regularly. Send the gate details and a site contact with the order so the delivery can be scheduled inside the gate's working window.
What liner thickness do Dubai farm reservoirs normally use?
0.75 mm and 1.00 mm cover most of them. 0.75 mm suits reservoirs kept permanently full; 1.00 mm is the sensible upgrade where the liner stays exposed for years or the pond is drained and refilled often.
Can you line a decorative lake at a hotel or community development?
Yes. These need careful detailing around pumps, lighting and fountain penetrations, and usually a protective layer above the liner so it is invisible in the finished landscape. Send the landscape drawings and we will price the detailing properly rather than as a square metre rate.
