Liner that arrives on spec, and stays watertight
A geomembrane is only as good as the seam next to it. Most containment failures in the Gulf are not sheet failures — they are seam failures, anchor trench failures, or the result of a liner that was one grade too thin for the load it had to carry.
That is the problem we are set up to solve. As HDPE geomembrane suppliers in UAE markets, we handle the whole chain: selecting the right resin grade and thickness for the application, supplying roll goods with mill certificates, deploying and welding on site, and handing over a QA file that a consultant can actually sign off. Whether you need a single truckload of HDPE liner sheet for a farm reservoir in Al Ain or a fully installed double-liner system for a waste cell, the material specification and the weld log are prepared to the same standard.
We work with contractors, consultants, facilities teams, farms, aquaculture operators and industrial sites. If you already have a bill of quantities, send it and you will get a line-by-line price. If you only have a rough area and a purpose, that is enough for us to recommend a thickness and quote it.

Which HDPE geomembrane thickness do you need?
Thickness is chosen from the service life you need, the loads the liner will see during installation, and whether anything will be placed on top of it. This is the table we work from when a client has not been given a specification.
| Thickness | Typical use | Notes for UAE sites |
|---|---|---|
| 0.50 mm | Temporary water storage, short-term construction ponds, evaporation trials | Economical, but thin sheet is unforgiving of a rough subgrade and of foot traffic during install |
| 0.75 mm | Farm and irrigation reservoirs, decorative lakes, small aquaculture ponds | The most common request in the region; pair with a 200 g/m² geotextile if the subgrade has any gravel |
| 1.00 mm | Municipal water reservoirs, TSE storage, larger fish and shrimp ponds | A good default where the liner is exposed to sun for years rather than months |
| 1.50 mm | Landfill base and capping, leachate ponds, industrial effluent lagoons, tank farm bunding | Usual minimum where a regulator or consultant is involved in signing the cell off |
| 2.00 mm | Heavy-duty containment, mining and brine ponds, cells receiving bulk waste | Textured on both faces where side slopes are steeper than 1V:3H |
| 2.50 – 3.00 mm | Severe chemical exposure, heavy plant trafficking over the liner, long design life | Specify handling plant and roll weights early — 3 mm rolls need proper offloading equipment |
Full test values, tolerances and the properties your consultant will ask for are set out on the HDPE geomembrane specifications page, and current rates are on the HDPE geomembrane price page.
Applications
Where UAE clients use HDPE lining
Water & irrigation reservoirs
Farm storage, landscape lakes, district cooling make-up ponds and treated sewage effluent tanks. Lining cuts seepage losses to near zero, which matters when every cubic metre is trucked or pumped.
Landfill & waste cells
Base lining, capping and leachate lagoons, usually 1.5–2.0 mm textured sheet with a geotextile cushion and a documented CQA package.
Industrial containment
Secondary containment to tank farms, wash bays, chemical storage bunds and evaporation ponds where the sheet has to resist the stored liquid, not just hold it.
Aquaculture & agriculture
Fish and shrimp ponds, biofloc tanks, silage pits and canal lining. Smooth liner keeps the pond cleanable and stops burrowing losses.
How the work runs
From enquiry to signed-off liner
A geomembrane job is a sequence, and skipping a step shows up later as a leak. This is the order we follow on every installation.
Requirement & take-off
You send the area, depth, slope angle and what the liner will hold. We calculate the developed area including slopes and anchor trench, then confirm the thickness and texture.
Quotation & data sheets
A written quote with rate per square metre, roll schedule, mobilisation and welding scope, plus the material data sheet so the consultant can review before you commit.
Subgrade acceptance
The base is proof-rolled, cleared of anything sharp and shaped to the design profile. We record a subgrade acceptance before any sheet is unrolled — this is the step most rushed jobs miss.
Deployment & welding
Panels are laid to a numbered layout drawing, seamed by hot wedge with extrusion welding at patches and detail points, then trimmed into the anchor trench.
Seam testing
Dual-track seams are air pressure tested; extrusion welds are vacuum box or spark tested. Trial welds are cut and peel/shear tested at the start of each shift and each temperature change.
Handover file
Panel layout as-built, weld log, destructive and non-destructive test results, material certificates and a repair register — issued as one PDF pack.
Send your lining requirement
Give us the area in square metres, the liner thickness and the application. We reply with a written quotation, material data sheet and an indicative delivery date.

Buying notes
What separates a good liner supply from a cheap one
The certificate has to match the roll
Ask for a mill certificate that carries the roll numbers actually delivered to your site, not a generic data sheet for the product family. Thickness, density, carbon black content and stress crack resistance should all be traceable to the batch.
Carbon black is the UV story
Exposed liner in the Gulf lives under intense UV and surface temperatures that can exceed 70 °C. Properly compounded HDPE carries 2–3 % carbon black plus an antioxidant package; that is what buys you decades of exposed service rather than a few seasons of chalking and cracking.
Thin sheet costs more later
The saving between 0.75 mm and 1.00 mm on a 5,000 m² reservoir is real, but so is the cost of draining a full pond to chase a puncture. Where the liner is exposed, trafficked or holds anything valuable, the thicker grade usually pays for itself once.
Wrinkles are a design issue, not a cosmetic one
HDPE expands in the heat of the day and contracts at night. Panels laid tight at 2 pm will pull; panels laid slack at dawn will wave. Deployment is planned around temperature for exactly this reason.
Seams need evidence
Every dual-track seam can be pressure tested end to end. If a supplier cannot show you an air test log with pressures, times and pass criteria, you are buying a liner without proof.
Details are where leaks start
Pipe penetrations, sumps, corners, and the anchor trench are the parts that fail. Ask how each will be detailed before you compare prices — a rate that excludes puddle flanges and boot details is not the same rate.
If two quotes are far apart, the difference is almost always thickness, texture, geotextile, or whether seam testing and documentation are included. Ask each supplier to confirm those four things in writing and the comparison becomes simple.

Frequently asked questions
Is HDPE a geomembrane?
HDPE is the polymer; a geomembrane is the finished product. High-density polyethylene is the resin most geomembranes are made from, so in everyday usage on site the terms are used interchangeably — but the family also includes LLDPE, PVC, EPDM and bituminous geomembranes. When someone in the UAE asks for a geomembrane they almost always mean an HDPE sheet, because HDPE offers the best chemical resistance and UV durability for the price. The full explanation is here.
What is a polyethylene geomembrane?
A polyethylene geomembrane is an impermeable plastic sheet, manufactured by extrusion into wide rolls and welded together on site to form a continuous barrier. It stops liquid moving between the ground and whatever you are storing. Permeability is in the order of 10⁻¹³ cm/s, which for practical purposes means no seepage at all. It is supplied smooth for water containment or textured where friction on a side slope matters.
Who is the best supplier of HDPE sheets in the UAE?
There is no single answer, and any supplier claiming the title is selling rather than advising. Judge on four things: whether mill certificates are traceable to your delivered rolls, whether seam testing and a QA file are included in the price, whether the crew has welded your type of structure before, and whether the thickness recommendation matches your actual application rather than the cheapest line item. We are happy to be assessed on all four — send your requirement and compare.
What is the cost of geomembrane per square foot?
In the UAE, supply-only HDPE liner works out at roughly AED 1.4 to AED 6 per square foot depending on thickness, which is around AED 15 to AED 65 per square metre. Installed rates including welding and testing typically add AED 8 to AED 20 per square metre. Thickness, texture, total area, site access and whether geotextile is included all move the figure — see the HDPE geomembrane price guide for the current breakdown.
Do you deliver HDPE liner outside Dubai?
Yes. Roll goods go to any site in the United Arab Emirates and installation crews mobilise to all seven emirates, including Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Delivery for standard thicknesses is usually within a few working days of order confirmation; non-standard widths, colours or textured grades take longer.
Can you install the liner, or is it supply only?
Both. Many clients take supply-only rolls and use their own crew, in which case we can still provide the panel layout and welding parameters. Where we install, the scope covers subgrade acceptance, deployment, hot wedge and extrusion welding, seam testing and the as-built documentation package. Installation scope is detailed here.
How long does an HDPE geomembrane last in UAE conditions?
A properly compounded HDPE liner with 2–3 % carbon black and a full antioxidant package has a design life measured in decades. Buried or covered liner lasts longest. Exposed liner in Gulf sun ages faster, and that is where thickness and resin quality make the visible difference — a cheap 0.5 mm exposed sheet can start chalking within a few years while a good 1.5 mm sheet is still serviceable long after.
What information do you need to give me a price?
Four things: the plan area and depth (or the developed area if you already have it), the side slope angle, what the liner will contain, and whether you want supply only or supply and install. If you have a drawing or a bill of quantities, send it and the quotation comes back priced line by line.
