How much water does lining a farm reservoir actually save?
It eliminates seepage, which on permeable desert soils is often the largest loss from an unlined reservoir. It does not reduce surface evaporation — that needs a cover. For most Al Ain farms the seepage component alone justifies the lining within a small number of seasons.
What thickness is right for an Al Ain farm reservoir?
0.75 mm for a reservoir kept largely full with a clean prepared subgrade; 1.00 mm where the liner is fully exposed for years, the pond is drained and refilled frequently, or the ground is coarse. Above that, thickness is usually driven by mechanical risk rather than by water.
Can you reach farms off the main roads?
Yes. The practical limit is what a flatbed can reach and what plant is available to lift a roll off it. Tell us about the last stretch of track and we will match roll length and vehicle — or supply pre-fabricated folded panels where a roll simply cannot get there.
